We love it when we host people's special events.

The unique charms of Donnelly have made many birthday parties, anniversaries, family reunions, club gatherings, corporate retreats and especially weddings, truly unique and memorable.

Donnelly is the only forest holiday destination in the region that has both large function centre facilities and ample accommodation to house hundreds of guests all in the one place.

To be honest, there's nothing fancy five star or silver service about a Donnelly wedding.

What we do have is billions of stars twinkling over-head at night, and silver rays through morning mist, served as the sun awakens on your special day.

Back when the mill was running, there were plans to build a church for the town, but the community enjoyed the services held each Sunday in the open-air so much, that they decided not to build it.

A growing number of happy couples have picked up the tradition and staged their ceremony under the karris of Donnelly, with their families and friends staying in their own cottages and the bridal party in either the Old Boarding House or Monohan Lodge.
The mill town's original Workers Club is used as the heart of celebrations at Donnelly and can host large seated diners in one room, with another room for fun and dancing.
We're not wedding planners, but we do get a buzz from seeing the joy that people coming together in our village for their special day creates. 

We can recommend a range of local service providers to assist with your event, from caterers through to photographers and live entertainment. We even know where there's a local horse drawn carriage!
